The Nitecore NU50 rechargeable headlamp pairs hands-free lighting with a built-in 5,000mAh Li-ion battery for longer sessions away from a charging point. Its white beam reaches up to 130 m, while 1,400-lumen Turbo provides a short boost and returns to the previous brightness after 30 seconds.

For runtime planning, Nitecore publishes 20 hours at 300 lumens in laboratory testing; real-world conditions can change that result. The battery is internal rather than field-swappable, and USB-C charging takes about 2.5 hours with a 5V/2A supply. The complete lamp weighs 146 g with its bracket and headband.

How long can I use it at lower brightness?

Published runtimes are 20 hours at 300 lumens, 38 hours at 100 lumens and 200 hours at 8 lumens. These are laboratory measurements, so allow for real-world conditions.

Is 1,400-lumen Turbo continuous?

No. Turbo automatically returns to the previous brightness after 30 seconds. Treat it as a short boost rather than the output available throughout a trip.

Why does it dim when something is close to the lens?

The optical sensor can lower output to 100 lumens when it detects an obstruction, then restore the prior setting when clear. It does not operate in red, SOS or Beacon modes and is not a substitute for switching the lamp off before packing it.

How heavy is the complete headlamp?

The NU50 weighs 146 g with the bracket and headband. The 122 g figure includes the bracket but excludes the headband.
