The original Nitecore HA11 is an AA-powered headlamp for straightforward hands-free lighting without a built-in charging system. It provides up to 240 lumens with a rated maximum beam distance of 90 metres. Its replaceable battery format lets you carry a spare AA or use a compatible rechargeable Ni-MH cell with a separate charger.

Direct access to red light lets you switch it on without first activating white light. A two-button lockout helps prevent accidental activation in your pack. This description applies to the original HA11, not the newer UHE revision, so check the model before choosing replacement batteries.

  • Uses one alkaline AA, 1.5V primary-lithium AA or 1.2V Ni-MH AA. AA batteries are not included; please purchase them separately.
  • Do not use a 3.7V 14500 lithium-ion battery in this original version.
  • With alkaline AA, 60-lumen Low is laboratory-rated for ten hours; actual runtime varies and High steps down during extended use.
  • IP66 dust and water-jet resistance; not rated for immersion.

Which batteries suit the original HA11?

The original HA11 covered by the 2022 manual takes one alkaline AA, 1.5V primary-lithium AA or 1.2V Ni-MH AA. AA batteries are not included; please purchase them separately. Do not use a 3.7V 14500 lithium-ion cell in that version.

Is it USB rechargeable?

The original HA11 has no built-in USB charging. Replace the AA battery, or remove a rechargeable Ni-MH AA and charge it in a suitable external charger.

How long does the original version run?

With an alkaline AA, it is rated for ten hours at 60-lumen Low or 40 hours at six-lumen Ultralow. High output steps down during extended use; runtime varies with the battery and conditions.

Can I switch directly to red light?

Yes. Hold the Mode button for one second while off to start red light without first switching on white.

How do I lock it before packing?

With the light off, hold both buttons for two seconds until it flashes three times. Hold both again for two seconds to unlock.

Is it suitable for wet weather?

The original HA11 is IP66-rated for dust and water-jet resistance, but not immersion.
